The third season production of “Ugly Betty” has moved all away to New York. Ashley Jensen, who plays the role of Christina, the worldly-wise wardrobe mistress for a high-fashion magazine, thinks that she’s in holiday.
She still looks at the Hollywood sign and says: “What am I doing here?” Jensen went back home to be with her husband. She’s overwhelmed and pleased to be appearing alongside its star, America Ferrera, whom she describes as “a delightful young woman, a good soul who’s on the right track – and she’s not gonna go giddy with it.”
In the series she is enjoying a juicy story line. Desperate to earn some money for a medical emergency, Christina is carrying a child, she’s a surrogate mother. Surprise: The biological mother is Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams), whose own womb has been declared “hostile” by her doctors.
Before “Ugly Betty” she appeared in “Extras“. The series, aired by HBO in the U.S., scored Jensen an Emmy nomination. It also led to her role on “Ugly Betty,” where she plays a far more colorful character. Asked about her role Jensen said: “to play Christina, you just sit up and close your mouth when you’re thinking.”
The third season production of “Ugly Betty” comes with location scenes all over real-life Gotham, making the show more visually stylish than ever. The fans will surely appreciate it. In addition, Victoria Beckham will return as herself in a few cameos. Kimmie Keegan (guest star Lindsay Lohan) asks for Betty’s help in finding a job. More surprises… in episode 3 who will appear on the screens on 9 October.
