Family reunions are always awkward and rich in clumsiness… Not surprising at all, gatherings on “Bones” are no exception and “The Goop on the Girl” is the proof. Margaret Whitesell, Brennan’s second cousin, spent the holidays with the whole Jeffersonian team. Thus and so, thanks to her father who convinced her to celebrate Christmas with him and a distant relative, Bones’ plans to spend the holidays in El Salvador ended in smoke.
However, nobody imagined that the magic of Christmas sat on a barrel of gun powder. Attempting to rob a bank, a man wearing a Santa Claus costume literally blew up. While Booth and Brennan were trying to identify the culprit and establish his motives, Sweets and Daisy couldn’t come to terms whether or not they should spend the holidays with Brennan and the rest of the team and Cam was upset because her daughter wanted to celebrate Christmas in Hawaii with her friend. Not to mention that Margaret, a huge fan of Benjamin Franklin, kept quoting him, annoying Brennan.
In “The X in the File”, Booth and Brennan deal with a bizarre case. The team travels to New Mexico to investigate some human remains with extraterrestrial particularities. Identified as a local UFO fanatic, the victim has been known around town for her assiduous quest for alien life forms. Believe it or not, her latest “evidence” makes even Brennan and Booth start seriously questioning the existence of extraterrestrial life. As if this weren’t enough, the team is forced to work via satellite because a local sheriff refuses to release the remains. Meanwhile, Angela and Wendell sort things out in what their relationship is concerned. This episode airs on January 14… Don’t miss it!
