A fine blend between gallows humor and compelling cases, “The Death of the Queen Bee” brought the show afloat. Booth and Brennan traveled to Burtonsville, IL, to solve the mystery surrounding the death of Evelyn Simms, one of our forensic anthropologist’s classmates. The tragic event took place right before her high school reunion. Sweets and Booth discovered a connection between their case and a crime that was committed 15 years earlier. The prime suspect in the murder of Sarah Tidwyler was Ray Buxley, the high school custodian.
In order to interrogate possible culprits, Brennan and Booth posed as a married couple at her high school reunion. She explained to her partner that Ray Buxley used to give her animals to dissect and they would discuss death only as a part of life. He was the one who understood her and encouraged her curiosity and interest in dead things. More than that, it turned out that the dark humored janitor was away during the time of the recent murder because he was buying a first edition copy of Brennan’s first novel. Although the denouement was more than a little obvious, namely, a crime of passion, fans got an insight into Bones’ childhood. As for Angela and Wendell, the two broke up. Although he is disappointed, he knows whom Angela is really meant to be with.
Next on “Bones”… when human remains are discovered in the stomach of a hammerhead shark, the team is on the job. They have to identify the missing person and to determine whether or not it was an accident. In the meantime, a marine biologist played by Rena Sofer becomes romantically attached to Booth. “The Predator in the Pool” airs tomorrow night… Don’t miss it!
