At odd moments, this season tends to leave the impression that it has no identity. In “Blinded By the Light”, excepting a clue on the Trinity Killer’s modus operandi, nothing much happened.
Following his grimly pattern, it is no surprise that a third victim is next. After having murdered a young woman and a mother, Trinity targets a man whom he bludgeons to death. Only what he doesn’t know, is that he might be in danger of being discovered before carrying out his plans… and this is where Lundy comes into the scene. Trinity manages to spill blood and leave the bodies in the limelight, fact that whips up the Dark Passenger’s admiration. The crumbs of Trinity’s work are fated to embody his bad guy aura and bring him closer to the Dark Passenger.
With Debra on his side, Lundy overworks just to find clues and evidence on Trinity. In the meantime, Dexter is on the horns of a dilemma… he sticks between devoting himself to his family and becoming a lone wolf, free to perfection his art. What remedy could be better than a new murder? Just thinking about his next victim refreshes him.
In “Dex Takes a Holiday”… he sights a female cop who assassinated her entire family. As for the Trinity Killer, he catches time by the forelock and is looking for his next weapon… or his next victim. Remains to be seen… Meanwhile, Rita takes the kids out of town for the weekend.
