“Dollhouse” is a thrilling new drama series scheduled to premiere on Fox on February 13. Joss Whedon, creator of “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” and “Firefly”, returns and reunites with “Buffy”, Eliza Dushku, for this thrilling show.
Eliza plays a young woman named Echo, a member of a group of people known as “Actives” or “Dolls”. The Actives are implanted with false memories and skills and then they’re hired for different assignments, crimes, fantasies and occasional good deeds. The Dolls don’t just perform their hired roles, they become whomever the client wants or needs them to be.
Between missions, they live in a futuristic dormitory/laboratory, a hidden facility nicknamed “The Dollhouse”. During the tasks, Actives are monitored internally (and remotely) by Handlers. After each assignment, Echo, under the watchful eye of her handler, Boyd, returns to the mysterious Dollhouse where her thoughts, feelings and experiences are erased by Topher, the Dollhouse’s genius programmer.
The show also revolves around the people who run the mysterious “Dollhouse” and two other “Dolls”, Victor and Sierra, who are Echo’s friends. As the series progresses, an FBI Agent, Paul Ballard, pieces together clues that lead him closer to the Dollhouse. Slowly, Echo begins to become aware of herself and what’s going on and to build, piece by piece, her mysterious past. How will she react? “You can wipe away a memory… But can you wipe away a soul?”
With an exciting premise, fresh and innovative, this show will be Fox’s new big hit.
