America’s favorite teenage grigs are finally back. More than hellbent, Will doesn’t leave them too much time to lick their wounds after their loss at Nationals and assigns them a new project. Sue doesn’t let the grass grow under her feet and announces her candidacy for congress, along with one of her main campaign pledges: “I will suspend all public school art programs.” Surprises don’t end here… not by a long shot. Quinn goes dark, dyeing her hair pink, smoking and swearing off singing, Blaine is considering a transfer to William McKinley High School and Santana will be kicked out of New Directions.

More than that, on September 20, “The Purple Piano Project” makes it very clear which characters are seniors and which will still be eligible to be in New Directions next year. It’s good to know that graduation does not ensure a departure from the show…
“I would never again say that people are leaving,” says co-creator Ryan Murphy. “I have learned my lesson. I think it’s a big, big world. We would never do ‘Glee: The College Years,’ but I think there’s very organic ways that you could keep them on the show, keep them big, and keep the audience invested in them. But you know the show is always going to be about that choir room.”
