Although Serena’s father and Rufus grasped almost the entire chapter, “It’s a Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad World” was surprisingly entertaining… The way Dr. van der Woodsen’s manoeuvres leave their mark on everyone’s lives made the show more compelling and might lead to an unexpected ending. Serena was on her high horse and made all the bad decision a person could make in a lifetime, proving that “think today and speak tomorrow” aren’t just mere words, but witty… Serena, Lily and even Eric got caught in William’s toils and accepted his reemergence in their lives, ostracizing Rufus within his own family.
Fitly, Jenny made an alarming discovery. Convinced that Dr. van der Woodsen is drugging Lily, she enlisted Chuck’s help. As for Blair, Chuck secretively applied on her behalf for a transfer to Columbia and it was accepted. At the end of the day, things worked out in the best way possible. The writers gave up on the idea of a mature Blair, capable of coping with a real academic environment, deep rooted in reality, and preferred to have her in an imaginary one, suitable for our tastes.
Anyhow, we still hope to enjoy a little dose of the manipulative and backstabbing side of Queen B. If not, why so much boom for nothing? Meanwhile, Vanessa decided to take the CNN internship for the next three months which means she’ll be back in… September.
Tonight, there is thunder in the air… When things between William and Rufus are on the verge of bursting out, Serena self-righteously takes her father’ side. After numberless failed attempts, Chuck tries one more time to reconcile with Blair. Let’s hope that she will finally accept the fact that they are destined to be together! In the meantime, Jenny sets Dr. van der Woodsen a trap. Will it be too late for Lily and Rufus? Remains to be seen…
