This year, “Heroes” returned with a two hour event that revolved around a diabolical master plan and a quest for revenge, but in substance, didn’t unveil too much. The characters’ personality is quite chameleonic going from one extreme to another from scene to scene, from episode to episode, from season to season.
Claire wants to help but has no idea how and her right about face when you least expect it shakes her credibility. However, thanks to Lydia, she realized that Samuel killed his brother and eventually, she found out that Nathan is dead. “Upon This Rock” also revealed that Emma’s powers go beyond some rainbow bright colors, drawing people with abilities, like a siren. Samuel needed her to bring in Ian, a man with the power to make trees bloom. “Let It Bleed” highlighted that Sylar is no longer the cold blooded killer we once knew. He could have killed Samuel, but the writers decided that he, for some reason, “just couldn’t do it”. Believe it or not, Sylar feels lonely and wants to be loved.
In the meantime, oscillating between grief and madness, Peter turned into suicidal hero to keep a gunman from hurting more people. Attacked by Edgar from behind, Noah managed to capture him. Eventually, Edgar escaped with all the information HRG needs to locate the Carnival.
Tonight, HRG enlists Matt to defeat the leader of the Carnival. In an effort to stop him, Noah tries to expose Samuel’s greatest weakness without knowing that the enemy has his own plans for Vanessa. While Ando and Hiro go to extreme lengths to save Mohinder, Peter introduces Emma to his mother, event which brings forth visions of a terrible future. Will Emma turn out to be an evil character?
