Ja in Jensen Ackles will make his directorial debut on Supernatural

For some time, there’s rumor in the wind that, next fall, Jensen Ackles will take a seat in the director’s chair for at least one episode of “Supernatural”. Now, it’s official! A representative from the publicity department at Warner Brothers and The CW confirmed that he’ll direct the third episode of the sixth season. Jensen Ackles made no secret of his passion for what happens behind the camera. Most recently, he spoke of his hobby at this year’s Creation Entertainment “Salute to Supernatural” convention in Los Angeles.

Jensen Ackles has previous experience in producing. In 2004, “The Plight of Clownana”, a short film about a dancing half-clown, half-banana store mascot, whose happy existence is astir at the arrival of a contender on his turf, made a splash… The comedy was written and directed by Chris Dowling and executive produced by Jensen Ackles.
“The Plight of Clownana” won the Newport Beach Film Festival’s Audience Award for Best Short Film in 2004. However, this will be his first mainstream, non-acting Above the Line credit and his first ever in the director’s chair.
