Lost’s premiere didn’t disappoint and proved out that “Lost” remained the same brilliant and complex show which succeeds to jump in just a couple of minutes from explaining the principles of time traveling to a classic Hurley moment, who loves his Shi Tzu T-shirt. What are the chances to find in a gas station an “I (heart) My Shi Tzu” T-shirt in extra, extra, extra large size?
By far the most interesting and riddling thing which had a good grip on us was the island hocus-pocus. Now we’re in the past… or maybe in the future. It’s for the first time in “Lost” when the people (their bodies) travel in time. Until now we’ve experienced only “mind traveling”. Initially we believed that the island made a jump, which is true, but Sawyer’s coterie doesn’t travel with the island. If they were, the relief would be the same. With each jump, the vegetation is different, which means only they travel in time. Why the island would go through changes if they aren’t growing young again or growing grey? By the way… why doesn’t anyone call Sawyer “Sawyer” anymore?
Unknown attackers
Dr. Chang, Daniel Faraday and Mrs. Hawking (thanks for confusing us) make very clear to them and us that the past can’t be changed, but any rule has an exception, in this case… Desmond. Locke is now alone, without “The Others” and if he wants to save the island, he must bring back the Oceanic 6, but that means to die. It’s more easily said than done.
In this week’s episode, “Jughead”, it seems there is a woman who can help Faraday stop the island’s rambling movements through time. Desmond is looking for her and finds out important information. Meanwhile, Locke discovers who have been attacking the survivors. As the show’s inevitable finale is approaching, “Lost” changed the pattern. From “answers one question, creates two instead” the series evolved to “answers two questions, and creates one instead” and step by step many clues will come to the surface.
