Lostseason5 in Lost Season 5

There’s no place like home“… and the fourth season is over. A season too short… and a little bit complicated. They seem even more lost.

The mystery remains and the finale was full of action, raising more and more questions: how does the island move, will Desmond ever be reunited with Penny? It will always be the same pattern: they give us pieces of information and we have to put them together.

Mainly this season was about the six getting off the island and we have to wait, like always, to find out what’s next. Fans seem to be tired with these waiting periods between seasons.

The fifth season is still more than four months away. The show won’t be returning to our screens until January 2009, possibly even February.

Continues the story of the survivors of the fictional crash of Oceanic Airlines Flight 815. Some of them are rescued and others still stranded seemingly disappear to an unknown location and time with the island. According to Lost’s co-creator/executive producer/writer Damon Lindelof, the fifth season will be presented differently with part of each episode taking place in different time dimensions.

The cast is yet to be officially announced. One rumor is that a female cast member who has been with the series from the start won’t be back for season five. Maybe is Claire… she finally emerged as someone really quite intriguing by the end of season four. Perrineau has confirmed that his character Michael has been killed and will not be returning.

Many fans think that Jin is likely to have perished too, but Kristin Dos Santos of E! News has reported that Jin survives and remains a main character in the fifth season. There are other rumors like: Desmond and Penny have a child and are on the move constantly, being hunted by Ben.

Ben tortures one of Widmore’s men. There are DHARMA stations all over the world, not just on the island; one of the following will die in the first five episodes: Charlotte, Juliet, Miles, Penny, Richard, Rose, or Sawyer. The writers are also scheduling an appearance by dead sixteen-year islander Danielle Rousseau.

Areas intended to be explored included the reason Libby (Cynthia Watros) was in the mental institution, why Ms. Hawking (Fionnula Flanagan) was in a photograph with Brother Campbell (Andrew Conolly), what happened between Ben and Henry Gale, the survivor of a hot air balloon crash and how Ben was caught in Rousseau’s trap in the second season episode titled “One of Them” and the four-toed statue seen by Sayid, Jin and Sun.

We also know that season 5 of Lost is now going to run for 17 episodes, instead of the originally-planned 16. Jeff “Doc” Jensen has reported that the title of the premiere is “Because You Left”. In 2009 the journey back begins.

We’ll have to wait and see…
