Prison Break – A masterpiece?
Most men would do anything to get out of prison… but Michael Scofield would do anything he can to break in. How far would you go to save your brother’s life?
This American drama series revolves around two brothers: Lincoln Burrows, who was convicted for murdering the Vice President’s brother and sentenced to death and Michael Scofield, a genius who conceives a plan to help Lincoln escape prison.
The concept of breaking out isn’t original, but “Prison Break” takes the old formula and adds some new twists and a successful architect. Michael Scofield covers his body in ink and fakes an armed robbery in an effort to rescue his brother from certain death.
A brilliant architect and strategist he hides the blueprints of the Fox River Penitentiary in a traditional tattoo. Once incarcerated in the same prison as his brother, Michael begins a race against the clock and makes important connections with other inmates and staff.
If all this sounds extreme, it’s just the beginning.
The season follows Michael as he puts his plan into action while overcoming various obstacles. In each episode, he has an objective that he must accomplish in order to build an escape route out of the prison.
The brothers’ fight to avoid the execution is aided by their lifelong friend Veronica Donovan. She begins to investigate the conspiracy that put Lincoln in jail. Behind the plot is an organization known as The Company.
Breaking out is more difficult than Michael thought, but towards the end of the season, he succeeds.
