Supernatural – First season’s summary

Supernatural in Supernatural Season 1

supernatural

Twenty-two years ago, an evil creature killed Mary Winchester and set the whole house on fire. Mary’s husband and their two sons made it out alive but not unscathed. John raised his boys to be demon hunters. Martial arts and weapons training replaced football and other activities. Despite all the training, Sam, the younger brother, chose college over hunting demons.

Season 1 begins four years later when John Winchester disappears. Dean needs his brother. Soon Sam is back from Stanford. Sam and Dean Winchester are on the road again, hunting down ghosts and things that go bump in the night.

Supernatural achieves a perfect balance between laughs and scares. Brothers also push each other around, play tricks on each other and whine about the other’s tastes in music, food and girls. The boys travel the U.S. in style in a 1967 black Impala, a classic car. We can say that the car has become the third character in the series.

A memorable catch line: “I think he wants us to pick up where he left off. You know, saving people, hunting things…The family business.” Dean to little brother Sam
