“The Mentalist” is a CBS police drama television series which debuted on September 23, 2008. Patrick Jane, a mentalist turned private investigator, uses his skills to help the police. He is obviously brilliant, but like House or Sherlock Holmes, a little distant and is actually anti-social with the group.
Patrick Jane loves to play mind games with people to get answers, reads their emotions and sets elaborate traps to catch them, bringing a sense of “I know more than you and there is nothing you can do about it.” Intimidating…
Within the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), he is notorious for his blatant lack of protocol and his semi-celebrity past as a psychic medium, whose paranormal abilities he now admits he feigned. He works with Senior Agent Teresa Lisbon and her team: agents Kimball Cho, Wayne Rigsby and Grace Van Pelt. They think Jane’s a loose cannon but admire his charm and skill for clearing cases.
