Vanessa Williams migrates to Wisteria Lane
It’s official! Vanessa Williams is moving to Wisteria Lane. ABC confirmed that, starting next season, the actress will join the “Desperate Housewives” cast as a series regular. Marc Cherry, the man behind the scenes, had declared that he had been seeking a new troublemaker to fill the void left by the demise of Nicollette Sheridan’s Edie.
And look what happened: he chose no one else than the former evil queen from “Ugly Betty”. Well done! “I’m a big fan of Vanessa’s work and I’m so excited that she’ll be moving into the neighborhood next season to cause trouble in all the ladies’ lives”, said creator Marc Cherry. Even so, according to TV Guide Magazine, her character won’t be in the center of the big riddle to come this fall, but will likely have something to do with the returning Paul Young, whose new wife will also play a role on the show. “I think our mystery is going to involve Paul”, added Marc Cherry.
